[Jack Livingston and Ed Istwan set out on a day of gallery-hopping to kick off a new radar feature.
They wanted to visit a number of venues and present their differing views in short statements. Lively
discussions turned to grumpy discord and exasperated laughs. They went their separate ways and
wrote their impressions. Here are the results.]

El: There was, like, a lot of art here. A vast accumulation of years and years of the varied and
somewhat negligible taste of one guy, it seems. I actually liked some of the stuff here, which must
ultimately say something about me.
JL: A good slap-dash expressionist painting by Maxine Taylor exuberantly holds the front wall;
the side gallery is crammed with rotund landscapes. What year is this? Who cares? Check out
the back room and talk to the owner. Energy abounds in this very idiosyncratic non-trendy place
that relocated from Portland five years ago.
